THE SOCIETY OF PLANT REPODUCTIVE BIOLOGISTS has been constituted to bring Plant Reproductive Biologists under one umbrella. Requests were made to a large section of scientists working in the field of plant sexual reproduction in various groups of plants e.g. algae, fungi, lichens, bryophytes, pteridophytes, gymnosperms and angiosperms. More than 100 plant reproductive biologists have joined the society including a large number of workers from different parts of the globe as well. The society is also bringing out a journal- The International Journal of Plant Reproductive Biology and the first volume and number one has already been published. The number 2 of Vol. 1 has also been released in July, 2009. The PDF of papers published in the Jorunal are available on line free of cost.
The volume 1(1) Jan. 2009 has 17 research papers including one from cynobacteria and one from Pteridophyta while others are related to angiosperms. The journal has three papers from abroad and two are in collaboration of Indian and foreign reproductive biologists. The vol. 1(2), July 2009 has 17 papers, including one each from fungi, bryophytes, pteridophytes and gymnosperms. The other 13 papers are from different members of angiosperms including four from other countries. The National conference was organized with the aim to bring all those who are interested in various aspects of plant reproductive biology at one platform. The second national conference on “Impact of climate change on Plant Reproductive Biology” will be organized on 7th and 8th Nov., 2009. The society also proposes to hold Ist Global Congress (PBR -2010) on “ PLANT REPRODUCTIVE BIOLOGY” on 22nd, 23rd and 24th October, 2010 at Agra. The executive council and advisory editorial board has also been constituted with Professor S.N. Chaturvedi as its founder President.

We call upon the members for contributing papers of to be published in Vol. 2(1) Jan., 2010 soon.
